Goree Offshore Engineering partners with Tracerco

Leading industrial technology company Tracerco, part of Johnson Matthey Plc, has entered into a partnership agreement with Gorée Offshore Engineering, to provide reservoir surveillance in the form of chemical tracer technology for a major operator in Dakar, Senegal.

Gorée Offshore Engineering is a Senegalese engineering services company focused on the frontier West African oil and gas markets, particularly offshore Senegal and Mauritania. The company offers the full suite of engineering design, asset integrity management, offshore maintenance and surveying services to local clients.

Tracerco’s technology uses oil, gas and water-based chemical tracers to provide a true understanding of reservoir fluid flow pathways across completions, reservoirs and stimulation projects. It has helped oil companies continuously monitor their reservoir and optimise drilling, completion and oil development strategies to maximise oil production in thousands of wells globally.

Gorée Offshore Engineering’s well sampling technicians are currently undergoing technical training on Tracerco’s well sampling and tracing methods prior to being deployed offshore to assist with the crucial production sampling programme.

“Being part of one of Senegal’s first major oil and gas projects is very exciting,” said Stuart Brown, Reservoir Business Development Manager at Tracerco. “Seeing many different companies working with each other towards one common goal is truly inspiring. Tracerco and Gorée Offshore Engineering partnering together puts us in a strengthened position to service our clients’ needs at a dedicated local level, and ensures we train and develop the local expertise in the country, now and for the future.”

Gaspard Mendy, Managing Director at Gorée Offshore Engineering said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Tracerco on this project. Tracerco is one of the leading technology companies in the field of reservoir surveillance and our technicians have already started benefitting from the training being delivered by their technicians. We look forward to a fruitful partnership on this and future projects and to developing our local talent to deliver world-class solutions for our oil and gas clients in Senegal.”
